The Crosse Keys, 9 Gracechurch St., EC3V 0DR – https://www.jdwetherspoon.com/pubs/all-pubs/england/london/the-crosse-keys-city-of-london – is one of Wetherspoon’s rather grand bank conversions. This one was once the London headquarters of the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation.

Their “London Beer Festival” features a selection of reasonably priced Craft Beers and Real Ales from 20 London Brewers*, so there should be something to suit most tastes. I haven’t checked but you can usually sample any three of the Festival ales in third-of-a-pint glasses, for the same price as a pint.

I’ve put up a slightly later than usual starting time for this event, simply because I’m not sure I’ll be able to get there any earlier, but if you’d prefer to get there before 8 o’clock please feel free to start without me!

The Crosse Keys is just a few minutes walk from Monument underground station, which is at the bottom end of Gracechurch St., but please note that there is no Circle Line service between Hammersmith and Tower Hill via King’s Cross on 3rd February. However, for those who would normally use this service, finding a different route should be fairly straightforward with a bit of forward planning.

One other option is Bank (Central & Northern lines and DLR). Take exit 6, walk straight down Lombard St. and turn left when you reach Gracechurch St., which is the last major road before you get to the “Walkie-Talkie”.

The plan is for this to be a one-pub event (although I will try to come up with a late-night option) but, as ever, we may need to do things differently on the night.  To sign up for the event, please join the group at http://www.meetup.com/London-Pub-Meetup/
