53 Carey Street, London, WC2A 2JB
This pub crawl takes us to a new area for the group, starting at The Seven Stars, 53 Carey Street, WC2A 2JB – http://www.thesevenstars1602.co.uk – a Grade II listed traditional pub tucked way just behind the Royal Courts Of Justice. It dates back to 1602 which some claim makes it the oldest surviving pub in London. There is a bit of (somewhat tongue-in-cheek) history at – http://www.thesevenstars1602.co.uk/index.php/about
The nearest underground station is Chancery Lane, but Holborn and Temple are not much farther away. City Thameslink station might suit those who can get there by National Rail.
The plan is to move on to Ye Old White Horse, 2 St. Clement’s Lane, WC2A 2HA – http://www.yeoldwhitehorse.co.uk – at around 8.45 (although anyone who wants to watch the Champions League final could get there earlier and we’ll catch you up) and then The Ship Tavern, 12 Gate Street, WC2A 3HP – http://www.theshiptavern.co.uk – at around 10.00.
The Ship Tavern is open until midnight and that’ll be the last stop for the event, but the various late-night haunts at the top end of Covent Garden are within easy walking distance for those that want to stay out later.
