3 Baldwin Street, London, EC1V 9NU
The Old Fountain – https://whatpub.com/pubs/ELC/14625/old-fountain-london – is a family run Free house, just a short walk from Old Street underground station – take exit 4 for City Road North (West Side) and you’ll find Baldwin Street on the left-hand side as you walk up City Road. It has an attractive roof terrace, so that’s where we’ll be if the weather’s fine and we can find some space.
The plan is to move on to The Three Crowns, 8 East Road, N1 6AD – http://www.threecrownsshoreditch.com – at around 8.45 and the Prince Arthur, 49 Brunswick Place, N1 6EB – http://www.princearthurlondon.co.uk – at around 10.00., but there’s no rush as it’s open until midnight.
The Three Crowns has recently reverted to its old name under new management and is now much better suited for a pub crawl, having been more “gastro” than pub under its previous incarnation.
The Prince Arthur is the type of traditional pub that is becoming a very rare sight in Central London. We haven’t been there before so it’s somewhere I thought we really ought to go before it’s too late.
