18 Holborn, London, EC1N 2LE
This pub crawl takes us to some of the best pubs at the top end of Chancery Lane, an area we haven’t been to before as a group, starting at The Inn of Court – http://www.innofcourt.co.uk – a Fuller’s pub which is just a few yards walk from Chancery Lane underground station on the Central Line. Take exit 3 for Barnards Inn and you’ll find the pub straight ahead of you.
The plan is to move on to the Cittie of Yorke, 22 High Holborn, WC1V 6BN – https://whatpub.com/pubs/NLD/6316/cittie-of-yorke-london – at around 8.45 and then The Old Red Lion, 72 High Holborn, WC1V 6LS – https://whatpub.com/pubs/NLD/6318/old-red-lion-london – at around 10.00.
The Cittie of Yorke is one of London’s most historic pubs and offers “London’s only beer served from a wooden cask”, whilst The Old Red Lion, which claims that the body of Oliver Cromwell was hidden in the cellars back in 1658, had an interesting selection of beers when I was there recently.
