Twixmas at The Porterhouse

Saturday, December 28, 2019 – 7:30 PM

The Porterhouse

21-22 Maiden Lane, London, WC2E 7NA

The Porterhouse, 21-22 Maiden Lane, WC2E 7NA – – is the London outpost of Dublin’s Porterhouse Brewing Company. It is reputed to be the largest pub in London, with 12 different levels, and there’s usually live music in the basement.

Being Twixmas, it’ll probably be a lot quieter than a normal Saturday night, so we shouldn’t have too much trouble finding a suitable area on the ground floor. The nearest stations are Charing Cross, Covent Garden and Leicester Square.

Clachan 1

This event takes us to a few of the pubs just off Carnaby Street (famous for its lights at this time of year, as well as its associations with The Swinging Sixties) in the north-west corner of Soho, starting at The Clachan, 34 Kingly St., W1B 5QH – The nearest underground station is Oxford Circus.

The plan is to move on to The Blue Posts, 18 Kingly St., W1B 5PX – – at 8.45/9.00 and then O’Neill’s, 37-38 Great Marlborough St., W1F 7JF – – at around 10.15.

For anyone interested in staying out a bit later, the Blues Bar –
– which is almost next door to The Blue Posts, is open until 2am (but please note that there is a modest charge on the door after 8.30pm on Friday & Saturday nights).
